I've been using Konqueror as my main browser for many years, with Firefox as a regular backup for things it just does better (such as eBay), however I've also found that Chromium is also better for some other things (such as YouTube).

However, some fairly recent (April / May 2017) update in Debian 7 "Wheezy" has broken Chromium so that it always shows "Aw, snap!" no matter what you ask for (any web page, the Chromium settings screen, the help page recommended by the Snap message, just anything)…

Here's a couple of samples, taken from this wiki, of how the fonts have been changed on my system during the upgrade. In my opinion, the change is certainly not for the better.

Part of the page which links to this one used to look like this:

I think that looks quite acceptable. Now it looks like this instead:

Linux used to be based on SysVinit for starting and managing processes; some distributions have experimented with upstart; now most distributions are based on systemd.

What's the problem with that?

Well, if it were only a change to the init system, and the way processes are started & stopped, maybe it would be okay.

After upgrading Debian Wheezy to Devuan Jessie, the first time KMail starts, you get a message about having to complete a migration process because KMail 2 stores things differently from KMail 1, and you are clearly informed that the process must not be interrupted. I assume that it also cannot be reversed once complete...
