The following comments apply to the Kamailio Admin Book revision 5.3r.

  1. Page 12, 1st paragraph, 1st line, "books" should be "book".
  2. Page 25, sections "Subscribe", "Notify" and "Publish", "an" should be "a".
  3. Page 25, final paragraph, "allow" should be "allows", "requests" should be "request".
  4. Page 30, 2nd paragraph, "an" should be "a".
  5. Page 36, last line of black text, "kamailio ps" should be "kamctl ps".
  6. Page 38, 6th bullet point, "manger" should be "manager".
  7. Page 46, second-last paragraph, last line, "on" should be "only".
  8. Page 47, 3rd line, "variables" should be "variable".
  9. Page 47, 1st line under "DNS Resolver", "to" should be "for".
  10. Page 48, 5th bullet point, "send" should be "sending".
  11. Page 66, 3rd paragraph, "Kamilio" should be "Kamailio".
  12. Page 78, under Kamcmd Options, "sercmd" should be "kamcmd".
  13. Page 85, top, I believe that "php5" should be "php7".
  14. Page 98, last line refers to a screenshot, which doesn't appear to exist.
  15. Page 100, under "Database Configuration", "DaB" should be "DB".
  16. Page 112, 2nd bullet point, "accessesed" should be "accessed".
  17. Page 127, 1st bullet point, "extensions" should be "extension".
  18. Page 129, 1st paragraph under "Failure_route", 2nd instance of "features" should be "feature".
  19. Page 135, 4th paragraph (starting "The actions inside…"), 2nd instance of "functions" should be "function".
  20. Page 139, 1st line, "present" should be "presents".
  21. Page 141, 2nd paragraph under "Event_route" end in "presentity". I'm not sure what is meant here, but that is not a word.
  22. Page 156, 1st blue line, "0049" should be "00".
  23. Page 183, config file line 211 should contain "2.3.4.5" instead of an empty string.
  24. Page 185, 1st green box, "atacks" should be "attacks".
  25. Page 200, 2nd bullet point, "ressetflag" should be "resetflag".
  26. Page 201, 3rd line in blue should end with a semi-colon.
  27. Page 205, under "Null", delete initial "The".
  28. Page 214, 1st line of black text, 2 ^ 8 = 256, not 512.
  29. Page 220, 2nd paragraph under "From Header Variables" references "the lumps mechanism detailed in the SIP parser section". The reference is repeated at the top of page 222. The SIP Parser section on pages 39-42 does not discuss a "lumps mechanism".
  30. Page 228, 1st paragraph following the two URLs, "even the values" should be "even though values" (or perhaps "even though the values").
  31. Page 228, two paragraphs further on (starting "Another check"), "local users" should be "local user". At the end of this paragraph, "requests" should be "request".
  32. Page 229, bullet points at the bottom reference adding a domain "local.lab" but the screenshots on page 230 show this as "kamailio.lab".
  33. Page 233, final paragraph starts "To demostrate", should be "To demonstrate".
  34. Page 237, 1st line, "an user" should be "a user".
  35. Page 238, immediately under the screenshot, "forms" should be "form".
  36. Page 240, 2nd paragraph, remove apostrophe after "First".
  37. Page 241, 3rd Paragraph, "Update" should be "Updates".
  38. Page 241, last paragraph under "Group Membership with Radius Server", "provider" should be "provide".
  39. Page 241, 2nd last bullet point, "subscriber" should be "subscribers".
  40. Page 242, 3rd indented bullet point, "users" should be "user".
  41. Page 246, 2nd section of blue text, "src_port=5060" should be "src_port==5060".
  42. Page 247, final line, "1.2.3.4/24" should be "1.2.3.0/24".
  43. Page 249, 1st, 4th and 5th bullet points at the bottom, "an SQL" and "a SQL" are inconsistent. Either is okay (depending on your pronunciation of "SQL"), but they should all match.
  44. Page 251, final black paragraph, "tokes" should be "tokens".
  45. Page 253, 4th paragraph (starting "Considering the records"), "requests" should be "request".
  46. Page 256, last sentence before the diagram, "digram" should be "diagram".
  47. Page 257, 1st red line of text, "kamailo" should be "kamailio". Same thing (in the same place) on page 258.
  48. Page 258, 2nd full line of red text "sip:101@" should be "sip:alice@".
  49. Page 270, 1st bullet point, "of of" should be "of".
  50. Page 271, 3rd bullet point, "brach" should be "branch".
  51. Page 272 and subsequently, "200.0.0.1" has been used as an example of a public IP address. I would recommend the use of https://tools.ietf.org/html/rfc5737 documentation IP addresses instead of real addresses.
  52. Page 272, 4th bullet point, "72.31.255.255" should be "172.31.255.255".
  53. Page 273, under "SIP and NAT", "casses" should be "cases".
  54. Page 274, in the diagram, "Via" header specifies port 5060, "Contact" header specifies port 5090. I'm pretty sure these should be the same.
  55. Page 276, under "Kamailio and NAT Traversal", 2nd bullet point, "requests" should be "request". 3rd bullet point, "an" should be "a".
  56. Page 279, last paragraph before "RTPProxy Installation", "paying" should be "playing".
  57. Page 282, last line before "VoIP calls through NAT", "requests" should be "request".
  58. Page 288, 3rd paragraph, "withing" should be "within".
  59. Page 293, middle blue section, final IP address is "192.168.178.47" - surely this should be "192.168.178.48"?
  60. Page 299, 1st line, "less" should be "fewer".
  61. Page 300, in the table, line "sip_reason", I don't think "string(3)" is correct? Maybe this belongs on the line above instead?
  62. Page 308, 4th bullet point, "lost" should be "loss".
  63. Page 311, final bullet point, "the the" should be "the".
  64. Page 313, 1st line following the bullet points, "sipcature" should be "sipcapture".
  65. Page 327. 1st paragraph, "there are undesired" should be "there are no undesired".
  66. Page 342, 1st line, "each on" should be "each one". At the end of that paragraph, "where which" should be either "where" or "which", but not both.
  67. Page 343, under "SIP over IPv6", "sill" should be "still".
  68. General comments:
    1. there are 6 instances of "signalling" (English) and 34 instances of "signaling" (American) in the text.
    2. "Flavour" (English) appears 8 times, and "flavor" (American) once.
    3. "Behaviour" (English) appears 6 times, and "behavior" (American) 7 times.
