Generation, by J.J. Green

Not a bad story at all (especially within this collection), although it does end irritatingly abruptly, and the author clearly has a bit of confusion between "infected" and "infested", which should have been easily picked up by an editor or proofreader.

I'm also highly dubious about the references to "the physical plain", which I'm pretty sure should be "the physical plane", however the biggest turn-off for me was the bowdlerisation - the use of "krat" and "" in place of realistic vocabulary.

Despite those, though, a good story - for as long as it lasts.

Okay, I get that this is the first book in a (ten part) series, but it would have been far better had it come to a reasonable conclusion in itself, before continuing in the next book. Maybe it should have been an eight part series instead.
