Wishbringer is not set in the Zork universe, and is labelled "Interactive Fantasy for Beginners" when you start the game.
This suggests to me that it should be a fairly easy game.
The Wishbringer itself is a magical stone, with which you can wish for seven different things. In order to get a wish granted, you also need to have a specific object associated with that wish. The objects and the wishes they are associated with are explained in the documentation which came with the game.
The game has a clock in its status line (instead of a running score, which many other games do). The clock starts at 3:00 in the afternoon, and you should find out fairly early in the game that The Olde Magick Shoppe closes at 5:00pm.
Each move adds one minute to the time, except for "wait", which adds 3 minutes.
