The Perfect Couple, by Jackie Kabler

ISBN: 978

Seldom have I come across a character whose frenetic activity and irrationality irritate me quite so much, quite so quickly, at the start of a book.

However, she seems to calm down during the first few chapters (although she still has her moments, throughout the story), and she's worth persevering with.

Overall, I'd say it's a reasonably well-done thriller / detective story, and it's hard to say whether the bits which make me think "that's ridiculous - who would (not) do that in this situation?" are more because they're ridiculous, or because people genuinely do ridiculous things.

Summary

Not a bad book, by any means, but not a great one either.

The main thing that lets it down is the non-ending.
