This is the second book in the [[https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00PMGU4VC|Wayward Pines]] trilogy, following on from [[Pines]].

The book is in five parts (comprising 27 chapters in total), and at least up until chapter 15, quite a few things have happened, but the story just __feels__ rather slow.  Some of the characters are "developing" fairly interestingly, although given the situation that they're in, there aren't that many ways in which they can show this.

As you get into the story, it gradually feels like a rather disconnected combination of [[https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00005NOMI|Planet of the Apes]] and [[https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B000ERVG4S|Sliver]].

The slow feel for things might be because the first two books in total cover three weeks of time.
