====== Vox, by Christine Dalcher ====== ISBN: 9780008300678\\ Amazon ID: [[https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B079YGW2RQ|B079YGW2RQ]] A nice enough story, I'm sure, if you like reading about the Nazis and the Holocaust, or earlier years and the repression / subjugation of women in society, but otherwise this is not something to enjoy. Also, even if you regard this as a morality tale, or a reminder of what society used to be like and "let's not return there", the end of the story is just so trite and simplistic that it casts the rest of the depicted timeline into such a pathetic and unbelievable naïveté that you end up wondering what the point of it was from the beginning. __Please__, if you're considering reading this book (possibly based on the effusive recommendations printed on and just inside its covers), **do** read the customer reviews on [[https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B079YGW2RQ|Amazon]] first. At least then, if you decide to read it anyway, you only have yourself to blame. I'm glad I bought it as an Amazon Deal of the Day, for 99p. PS: I have, after reading this book, bought [[.Q|Q]] just to see whether things can get any better. You never know... ---- [[.:|Go up]]\\ Return to [[:|main index]].
